Can AI develop Software for Structural Engineering?
Join me in exploring the game-changing potential of AI and ChatGPT in structural engineering. This video shows how this technology can simplify software development for engineers, with the help of natural language commands and of course with some help from humans!
#chatgpt #structuralengineering #programming #software
List of the questions that were asked in the video:
Question 1: Write a C# code for a console application that calculates and displays the section’s moment of inertia in mm4 units, end reactions in kN (defined as Left and Right), maximum moment in kNm, maximum shear in kN, and maximum displacement in mm for a simply supported beam under a uniform load. The section is a steel hollow rectangular section that is defined by the user inputs for the width, height and the thickness in millimeters. The program to ask for modulus of elasticity with a default of value of 200,000 MPa, the span length in meters and the distributed load value of w in kN/m. In addition, the displacement value to be multiplied by a factor that is user inputted. At the end prompt the user if wants to start over again.
Question 2: Now add an option for this calculation to be done for a fixed-fixed support condition instead of the pin-pin.
Question 3: Add error handling checks for all inputs.
Question 4: Please provide just the remainder of the code from where you stopped.

Making a Popsicle Tower to Resist Compressive Load
Переглядів 49 тис.3 роки тому
Popsicle sticks are slender pieces of wood sticks that cannot hold much of a compressive load individually so I made a vertical structure which is often called a Popsicle tower that can resist more compression. The structure is made of 4 columns with ties and diagonal braces in alternate directions. I have used 84 craft sticks for this tower and it has a height of 31cm or 12-3/16". The design w...

Hi! So i’m doing a science project in school with building a bridge with pasta just like you do here. But the thing is that the bridge can only be 10 cm wide and it’s going to be over a 50 cm gap. Can i still try and do this like sketch and build the bridge with just some different measures? Or will it not work good at all because it should be able to hold 2 kg and we Will not be able to also have like wood when the 2 kg is standing

Hello, thank you for this tutorial, one question though, should there be any changes to the structure of the bottom if the load will be applied to the base (longer side of the bridge) through some sort of weights on a hook? should i glue more sticks in an X manner, or is there a better way?
